Poverty was chosen by SWA members worldwide as the 2008 SWA Annual International Convention issue through online voting earlier this year. Of the 9 topics proposed for this year's International Convention, Poverty received 37 % of all your votes. . Please click here to see the election results.

Poverty is an important issue for members to consider, as it is the root of many social ills that affect our world today. We solicit you, as a SWA member, to take action against Poverty, whether it is individually or through your chapter, and join SWA's 2008 campaign to “Fight Global Poverty”.

For 2008, the Annual International Convention will be held in Peshawar, Pakistan at the Institute of Management Sciences. Student delegates from around the world will come together to pass resolutions on the issue of poverty.
